2nd                        Greece                      3         1         1        1         0        4

* Czech Republic qualify as winners of the group after two wins from their three games despite losing their opener to Russia
* Greece miraculously turned it around after a draw with Poland and defeat to Czech Republic by defying the odds to beat Russia
* Russia finish third despite having the same number of points as second-placed Greece due to head-to-head record
* Poland only managed two points therefore sit bottom of the table having crucially lost to Czechs on matchday three

Group B-  Final standings as of 17th June 2012

Position                   Team                      PLD       W        D         L        GD      Pts

1st                       Germany                     3         3         0         0        +3       9

4th                       Holland                       3         0         0         3        -3        0

* Germany top the group with three wins- each by one goal from three matches- by three points with only 100% record in Euros
* Portugal manage to finish in second place after winning last two games against Denmark and Holland
* Denmark were odds on to finish bottom but beat Dutch in first game and almost qualified- lost last two matches by the odd goal
* Holland were hugely disappointing, failing to impress while overall losing all three of their group matches by one goal

Group C-  Final standings as of 18th June 2012

Position                   Team                      PLD       W        D         L         GD       Pts

4th                 Republic of Ireland              3         0         0         3         -8         0

* Spain finish off the group with 7 points having not lost any of their three matches while their goal difference is more superior
* After a stuttering start with two draws, Italy progress by virtue of the 2-0 win over Ireland on matchday three just pipping
Croatia to the second qualifying spot
* The Croatians picked up a win, a draw and a defeat and exit the tournament as their 1-0 win over Spain left them with too much
   to do
* A disappointing Republic of Ireland leave Poland & Ukraine with three defeats, just one goal scored and nine conceded- bottom of
   the group

Group D-  Final standings as of 19th June 2012

Position                   Team                      PLD       W        D         L         GD        Pts

4th                       Ukraine                       3         1         0         2          0         3

* England topped the group with seven points after France's loss to Sweden and their victory over Ukraine on matchday three after
a draw with the French and a win over Sweden
* France could only finish second on four points after defeat to Sweden in their final group game after drawing with England and
   beating co-hosts Ukraine
* After two opening defeats to Ukraine and England ended their qualifying hopes, Sweden managed to avoid finishing bottom of the
group with a sensational victory over the French in game three to claim three points
* After a promising start with a win over the Swedes, Ukraine's group stage campaign soon faltered with two defeats in their last
two matches against France and England which condemned them to fourth place in the group
