Referees revealed for Euro 2012 Semi-Finals

Cakir (above top) took charge of the Barcelona-Chelsea semi-final second leg in the Champions League; while Lannoy (above below) took charge of two matches at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa


 

Turkish referee Cüneyt Çakır and French referee Stéphane Lannoy have been awarded the UEFA Euro 2012 Semi-Finals in Warsaw and Donetsk. 

Cakir, 36, in his first major tournament was announced as the opening Semi-Final referee by UEFA referee manager Pierluigi Collina. He will take charge of the Iberian derby between Portugal and Spain, with the holders looking to get to the final and defend their trophy. Portugal are looking for their first major tournament final. The match takes place at 7:45pm, from Ukraine's Donbass Arena in Donetsk and is live on BBC1/HD on Wednesday 27th June. 

Stephane Lannoy will be the man in charge for the second Euro 2012 semi-final taking place on Thursday 28th June. Germany face off against Italy in Warsaw for a place in the UEFA Europa League final.
